Keyshia appeared at BET’s “Upfronts” event in NYC, where the network unveiled their television programming for the upcoming year. It was announced that Keyshia’s #1 rated reality show “Keyshia Cole: The Way It Is,” would return for a new season! After the ceremony, Keyshia closed out the event by performing three songs. BET’s highest rated show returned for a reunion last Thursday night. Keyshia, Neffie, Frankie and Manny each appeared on the show to discuss the current status of the family. If you still haven’t caught the episode, it will repeat on BET Monday 3.24 @ 10PM ET & Thursday 3.27 @ 9PM ET.

BET brings Keyshia Cole and her family back together for a reunion special like no other on Thursday, March 20 at 8:00 PM*. Hosted by veteran BET personality Ananda Lewis, KEYSHIA COLE: THE WAY IT IS — A FAMILY AFFAIR is a compelling two-hour special that revisits the Grammy Award-nominated R&B songstress, her mother Frankie, sister Neffe, and manager Manny to recap all that has happened since the second season wrapped for the critically acclaimed BET series, KEYSHIA COLE: THE WAY IT IS.

Ananda leaves no stone unturned when she probes Keyshia and her family members about past challenges and their ongoing relationships in this emotionally charged special.

Here is some of what Keyshia and her family had to say:

“I’m learning to be a mother … it’s never too late but at the end of the day, respect that, don’t ever give up on your mama … I love my babies and all I want them to do if they don’t do nothing else in life is to forgive me.”

Keyshia’s mother, Frankie, tearfully declares when asked about her on- going sobriety and being absent in her daughter’s life.

“We grow everyday … and the first step is letting it go and knowing that God is your rock and your shelter. And have faith. I promise you if I don’t know nothing else, I know that.”

Keyshia’s response on how she learned to forgive her mother for abandoning her as an infant.

Keyshia’s hit BET reality show “The Way It Is,” is now available on DVD. The first season can be found at Walmart and other online retailers. Season 2 (pictured above) will be released April 29th and include the featurettes “Meet Keyshia’s Glam Squad” and “Frankie Reveals,” as well as deleted scenes.

Keyshia Cole recently talked to SOHH about prepping a new album, a final season of Keyshia Cole: The Way It Is,and her guest appearance in the movie How She Move.

“They called my management and asked them if we could come down to LA to the lot and see the movie to see if I was at all interested in doing it,” she told SOHH exclusively.

Cole was handpicked to appear in the coming of age dance movie, How She Move, which hits theatres nationwide today (Jan. 25). Keyshia was definitely interested and though her role was small - she plays herself in the film - she was excited to take part.

“At the end, I’m hosting the Step Monster competition that the main characters are all going to be in.”

Though she enjoyed appearing in How She Move the singer has no immediate plans to do more movies unless the right role comes along.

“Not anytime soon,” she says. “Recently they haven’t really been giving me roles that I’m willing to accept. It has to be true to my character, true to who I really am.”

Keyshia is interested in doing one last season of her hit BET show Keyshia Cole: The Way It Is, which documents her struggle to overcome her troubled past.

“I feel like the first [season] was what the situation was and the second [season] was our transformation,” she said. “The third [season] would have to be the verdict.”

In addition, Keyshia is preparing for her next album and eyeing a fourth quarter release.

“I’m writing down ideas now, just what I feel like the album should be about,” she says. “This is the first time I’ve actually done that so that should be fun. They want it out by Christmas.”

More than 2.9 million viewers and 2.0 million households tuned in on Tuesday, December 11 to watch the special one-hour season finale, scoring a phenomenal 2.3 BET Coverage Rating.

KEYSHIA COLE now stands as the #1 series in BET history, with an average 1.53 rating, bringing in an average of 1.3 million households and 1.8 million viewers throughout its second season. The finale of KEYSHIA COLE posted gains of +52% versus the show’s premiere episode and is BET’s #2 telecast of the 2007-08 season behind the BET HIP HOP AWARDS 2007.

In the season finale, Keyshia and her mother Frankie receive the results of a DNA test to reveal whether a man claiming to be Keyshia’s long-lost father actually is. Meanwhile, her manager Manny organizes a family reunion to bring together Keyshia’s foster family and biological family, including two siblings she has only recently become acquainted with.

The finale of KEYSHIA COLE: THE WAY IT IS will re-air on Thursday, December 13 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT, Friday, December 14 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT and Saturday, December 15 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT.
